Butterflyfish

If you have a fish only aquarium, chances are you have at least one species of butterfly in it.

Some of the most exotic and colorful fish come from this category. Unfortunately many of the more beautiful species are difficult to care for in the home aquarium due to dietary requirements.

As a general rule, butterflies are not reef safe. Many people have had success keeping Copperbanded and Racoon butterflies in the reef aquarium with limited "pecking".

Definitely not a fish for the beginner, but a rewarding tankmate in an established aquarium.
