Hawkfish

The fish without a swim bladder. Hawkfish are a perching fish that swim in short bursts. If they stop swimming, they sink.

Several species are considered reef safe with the knowledge that there is a chance they will eat the occasional snail or crab. If shrimp are introduced after the hawkfish, chances are you can kiss those goodbye too.

For those willing to put up with an occasional snail treat, these fish are just that - a treat in the aquarium. A curious fish with vibrant color, that doesn't grow to large.
