CO2 systems have found many uses in the aquarium world. They are used on planted aquariums to grow plants faster, and in marine systems to dissolve calcearous media.

The CO2 system is composed of the cylinder, regulator (drops pressure from tank), needle valve (fine adjustment of gas flow) and solenoid (safety/control valve).

In most cases you can expect your CO2 supply to last up to around 6 months.
