Live Soft Coral - Gorgonians

The common Gorgonian species available to the home aquarist are generally easy to care for, provided that proper feeding is provided.

In most cases the addition of Oyster eggs & live phytoplankton will make the difference between life and death. Gorgonians will do best in an aquarium with minimal algae growth - algae growth that may otherwise coat them and prevent them from opening to feed & respire.

Moderate to strong opposing (perpendicular) water motion is required to keep them healthy. Because Gorgonians differ slightly in their requirements, always be sure to ask about the specific care required for the species you are looking to purchase.
