Small Polyped Stony Coral (SPS)
Does best under a medium to high flow area placed in brightly lit area. Water flow determines how this coral will grow and develop it's shape.
Montipora "Caps" are one of the most popular SPS corals to aquarists. They are relatively easy to keep given the proper water conditions, often colorful, and usually very fast growing. Watch that floating algae does not take hold on their rough skeleton.
When placing this coral in your aquarium try to put it in a high flow area. By strategically placing it you can effect how this coral will develop as it grows. Often the polyps on these corals are a bright purple.
Commonly imported in shades of Green, Pink, Purple, Yellow, Orange and Brown. Many brown specimens given sufficient lighting will develop into one of the above mentioned colors.
