Soft Coral
Grows from young mushroom shaped colonies to larger more lobed and folded structures. Toadstools are able to change their shape to maximize prey capture and light enrichment.
Sarcophyton sp. are tolerant of many different lighting and flow conditions and thus are great beginner corals.
Fluorescent to mid-intensity metal halides (250 watt) will be sufficient to keep this coral in good health. Aquarists are encouraged to shy away from placing this species in extreme water flow-moderate flow is needed to help the coral shed it's mucous coat. Yellow varieties often need more light than their counterparts.
Many colours are available including: gold, green, yellow and creme.
