The correct calcium content is a vital requirement in keeping and growing corals successfully in a marine aquarium.
The calcium level should be kept above 400mg and preferably in the range of 440-450mg. With the Deltec Fluidized Calcium Reactors it is possible to adjust and control the calcium content in a simple manner to achieve these results. With conventional non-fluidized reactors, as the media dissolves and breaks down, fine particles are left to clog the reactor and water finds its own easiest way through. This leads to 'channeling', where the contact area with the water can be very small, leading to a rapid drop-off in efficiency.
With the Deltec Fluidized Reactors, the media is kept constantly moving, so that it is impossible for channeling to occur and the whole of the media is utilized. Most competitors' calcium reactors can only achieve a dKh between 35-40. Through fluidization, Deltec reactors can achieve a dKh in excess of 80, which corresponds to a significantly higher calcium level.

Please Note: Reactors do not come with a solenoid, regulator, or CO2 canister. It is strongly recommended that only Rowalith C+ media is used in these reactors.
