The 4th generation of the popular Radion LED Fixtures are completely redesigned making the best in aquarium lighting even better! Generation 4 features all-new technology including HEI (Hemispherically Edge Illuminating) Optics for increased spread, more even coverage, and amazing color mixing.
The Radion G4 features a whole new cluster. The re-balancing of proven colors combined with the addition of warm white and violet, takes color rendition for your corals to the next level. The reconfiguration of the clusters compliments the all-new HEI lenses to deliver balanced color mixing better than ever before.
The HEI lenses on the G4 deliver more usable light area. This is accomplished by spreading light that would normally create an area of high PAR directly under the LED fixture and redirecting it to a significantly wider optimal area of intensity for coral health and growth. This will reduce shadowing in the aquarium as well as increase usable space for coral at all depths.
EcoTech aims to produce the least intrusive equipment available. The G4 continues to boast Radion's sleek styling and small footprint but now also features greatly reduced operational noise. The G4 incorporates a completely redesigned heat sink with new geometry and micro-fins that makes the cooling system less noticeable.
More colors means more channels. The G4, like its predecessors, will be fully compatible with EcoSmart Live. It can be added to an existing or new ESL account either via USB or with the Reeflink. *Channel control is updated to match the new clusters and includes Violet and Warm White.
Quiet Active Cooling
The G4 heat sink has been designed from the ground up to maximize surface area and allow for superior heat dispersion. Multiple channels provide unrestricted airflow. This effective heat management greatly reduces the need for active cooling, which decreases fan and airflow noise.

Beautiful Light, Horrible service Review by AlibiStellatus
Quality Price Value
First the CON: Ecotech's support is horrible and after many hours of e-mails because of their EST hours it turns out that the Ecotech Connection Manager (to set up programming for the light schedules) is NOT COMPATIBLE with MAC OS X above 10.06! The response from Ecotech was - Get an older mac and use that or get a friend to use it because our software team is not updating our install package.
So if you have an older Mac, or someone who has one that you can use every time you want to change your programming then no worries. If you purchase the Ecotech Reef Link you can use the app on your mobile device with no worries.
Now the PROS:
This light is extremely powerful, so much so that I run it at 60% and it provides enough light without producing film algae all over the tank. The light pattern and shimmer is beautiful even without the diffuser.
It allows for mounting to the tank or hanging options for installation and it is very easy to set up. The instructions are clear and provide pictures for reference.
The light is compatible with other Radion lights allowing "communication" between them with lunar cycles and sun rises so that it brightens from one to the other etc. which doesn't mean much for the tank but it looks fantastic when you see it happen. It also allows for cloudy days shifting in brightness and color between the lights.
Overall I am very happy with this light. I purchased the diffuser to enhance the light and cut down how sharp the LED's were to look at. I mounted mine with the mounting system as well. It is an expensive purchase but with the customization, schedules and communication between lights I would recommend these to anyone with the budget for them. (Posted on 11/25/2018)
